An online store that does not talk to the accounting system creates manual work and errors. This is how we build a connection between WooCommerce and DK, Regla or Payday that creates every invoice exactly once, keeps stock right and tells you when something breaks.
WooCommerce is a solid base for most online stores and connects well to Icelandic systems.
Cost depends on the number of products and variants, whether data needs moving from an old store, which payment gateway and shipping methods you use, and whether the store connects to your accounting. Monthly running costs (hosting, gateway, plugins) are listed separately in the proposal so you see the full picture.
An online store with an accounting integration often takes 8–16 weeks, depending on the product range, payment methods and integrations. The proposal includes a phased timeline.
We mostly work with WooCommerce, because it gives you full control over data and design and connects well to Icelandic accounting systems and gateways. Shopify can suit stores that want as little technical upkeep as possible, but monthly fees and apps add up. If Shopify suits you better, we’ll tell you.
Teya, Rapyd and Straumur all offer WooCommerce integrations. The choice often comes down to where you already have a merchant agreement and which terms you’re offered. We set up the gateway and test payments, refunds and receipts before the store opens.
Orders can flow automatically into DK, Regla or Payday as invoices, with stock levels and prices synced back to the site where your accounting system manages stock. Which data goes where, and how often, we decide together during mapping. There’s more on this on our integrations page.
Each product gets the right VAT rate, usually 24% or the reduced 11% where it applies, and prices are shown including VAT. If you sell abroad, the rules need a closer look, and we recommend confirming them with your accountant.
A store needs fast, secure hosting with backups. It can be hosted by Gagnaver, which is run by the same company as Íslandsvefir.
